Wendy Turner Webster

Wendy is a television presenter and animal rights campaigner. Currently, she presents the TV series ‘Crafty Beggars In The House!’ with her friend and business partner, actress Julie Peasgood and the pair also present programmes on Create and Craft TV as well as ‘Ready, Steady, Craft’ in the USA. In 2015, they produced and presented ‘Wendy & Julie’s Monkey Business’, a documentary based at a Spider Monkey Sanctuary in Mexico.

Wendy’s television career began as a news reporter for Live TV and later she hosted her own TV shows. Before TV, Wendy worked in commercial radio and also wrote for magazines including OK! Magazine and Honda Pride. Her passion for animal welfare made her an obvious choice to host Channel 4’s ‘Absolutely Animals’, a forerunner to Pet Rescue which Wendy hosted for 7 years.

She has taken part in a documentary about domestic violence which led to her involvement with the domestic violence charity ‘Refuge’. Wendy is also a talented children’s author with two books published, as well as ‘The ‘Absolutely Animal Free Cook Book’.

Wendy has also starred in a number of pantomimes and it was whilst playing Maid Marion that Wendy fell in love with her Robin Hood, actor Gary Webster.  They married in 1999 and have two boys.

Wendy says:

I am thrilled that Naturewatch Foundation has asked me to become a Patron. As an animal charity they tackle all the issues that I care so passionately about and I am looking forward to working with them and my fellow Patrons to raise awareness of the devastating cruelty that humans are prepared to inflict upon our fellow creatures. Please join us on this journey… by working together we can change the world and put an end to the needless suffering that countless animals are forced to endure. Stand up and be counted!”
