Kharkov Municipality seminar
On 16 – 17 October 2012, Naturewatch Foundation conducted a seminar for shelter managers and staff from 15 municipalities from across Ukraine, providing both theory-based and practical hands-on training. Topics covered included methods to manage stray dogs humanely and sustainably, dog behaviour and body language, animal handling and catching, disease control, shelter cleaning protocols and Standard Operation Procedures within a shelter environment. We supplied each delegate with a set of 9 documents translated into Russian, which contain comprehensive information on how to implement humane stray animal control methods, which are in line with the OiE standards.
The seminar was attended by representatives of 15 cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Dneprodzerzhinsk, Lugansk, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Yalta, Poltava, Kherson, Nikolaev, Mariupol, Khmelnytsky and Zhitomir.
