Our fight for the improvement of animal welfare continues in Ukraine, despite the current crisis
In the face of adversity, Naturewatch Foundation is reinforcing its commitment to continue the education programme to school-children about responsible pet ownership in Ukraine.
On 22 April 2014, the second teacher training seminar was attended by twenty-one biology teachers from the Lviv Regional Institute for Post-Graduate Pedagogical.
Teachers left the seminar fully equipped with two books that have been written and published by our expert team of animal welfarists and called “Human and Environment. Animal Protection” and “Ecological Ethics and Humane Attitude to Animals and Plants” empowering them to begin teaching classrooms of children about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
In support of our seminars, we also created a website where all teachers can download free copies of these books and other useful materials for their lessons about animals.
Following the seminars, we will work closely with teachers and NGOs to conduct practical lessons for children at schools to assist teachers in learning how to implement our programme within their lesson plans
Naturewatch Foundation would like to thank LUSH for enabling this project to come to fruition through the generosity of their grant scheme.
