World Animal Day 2022 was a success because of your hard work!
Every year, Naturewatch Foundation coordinates World Animal Day on October 4. In fact, we have a separate website and social media channels dedicated to this special day of recognition for animals!
As you might have seen, the hashtag #WorldAnimalDay reached tens of millions of people around the globe on October 4! We think that’s amazing – raising awareness of welfare issues is a crucial step towards raising the status of animals, which is the mission of World Animal Day.
However, the number and variety of events organised for animals is what really warmed our hearts this year.
Animal lovers around the globe are encouraged to add events to the website and use its resources to help promote their activities. From Bermuda to Bolivia, India to Indonesia and the United States to Ukraine, people in every corner of the planet united to speak up for animals and give them the voice they deserve.
We’d like to see even more events added to the World Animal Day website in the future!
It’s clear from the wide variety of activities this year that World Animal Day can be whatever you want it to be…
- If you’re an animal welfare organisation, you can use it to raise funds, promote a campaign or recruit new volunteers and supporters.
- If you’re an animal lover, you can use it to show your favourite charity how much you appreciate their work by organising an event on their behalf.
- If you’re a business, show your customers how compassionate you are by getting involved on October 4!
- Whoever you are and wherever you live, you’ll find an idea to suit you in World Animal Day’s Get Involved pages! Whatever you do, however small, is better than doing nothing.

World Animal Day 2022 on the news!
On October 4, Sarah Carr (Naturewatch Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer and organiser of World Animal Day), appeared on a US TV station to speak about the importance of World Animal Day.
