World Animal Day

Today, almost 100 voluntary ambassadors are working in more than 70 countries to promote World Animal Day.

For us, it is important to speak up for animals every day of the year. However, coordinating World Animal Day on October 4 focuses the world’s attention not only on celebrating animals but also on making their lives better.

The story so far…

How far we've come…

  • World Animal Day continues to grow every year, reaching 59 million people worldwide in 2025.

  • Hundreds of events take place annually in countries around the world.

  • Our global Ambassador network now spans 109 ambassadors across 70 countries, working year-round to raise the status of animals.

  • The World Animal Day logo is now recognised globally as a symbol of compassion, transcending nationality, religion and politics.

Next steps…

  • We aim to have at least one World Animal Day ambassador in every country.

  • To continue raising the status of animals worldwide, ensuring they’re recognised as sentient beings.

  • We want to grow World Animal Day’s presence in schools and youth communities to inspire the next generation.
