We’re a small tight-knit team, but we punch above our weight. We’re lucky to have a group of dedicated people whose combined expertise, experience and enthusiasm – along with their tireless efforts – means we’re able to achieve real change.

The Naturewatch Foundation team

SARAH CARR
CEO

Sarah is an experienced campaigner who is passionate about making a difference for animals and people. She joined Naturewatch Foundation in 2018, initially as Campaign Manager leading the charity’s campaigns against puppy farming and animal experiments. She became the CEO of Naturewatch Foundation in 2022.

Outside of work, Sarah organises a busy family diary and in her free time, she enjoys yoga and running with friends. She also shares her home with a very affectionate black rescue cat, Puma and bouncy rescue dog Buddy. 

Mark Randell
Campaign manager

Mark is a retired UK senior police detective turned global animal welfare advocate. Following a career in covert operations and counter-terrorism, he applied his investigative skills to exposing and tackling animal cruelty worldwide. As a leading voice in the Protect Animals. Protect People campaign, Mark works to show how animal protection and community safety are linked, driving change through advocacy, education, and frontline action.

LAURA LENDRUM
ANIMAL WELFARE PROJECT SPECIALIST

Laura joined Naturewatch Foundation in April 2025 and will be supporting various campaigns. In her previous positions as a Veterinary Surgeon, she spent most of her time within the charity sector in the UK and abroad. Since leaving veterinary practice, she now focuses on animal welfare and is working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law through the University of Edinburgh.

Outside of work, she enjoys walking in nature with her family and dogs.

Natalie Harney
Campaign Manager
Claire Brazington
Communications Coordinator

Claire joined us in 2015 and quickly became a key member of our team. She’s passionate about animal welfare and is involved with all our projects and campaigns, as well as designing literature and images for social media.

Outside work, she takes her rescue dog, Lucas, on long walks in the Gloucestershire countryside.

Natalie joined us in December 2021 from the RSPCA’s Animal Logistics team. She manages our companion animals campaign.

She has a long-standing interest in animal protection law, which she pursues outside of work in a voluntary capacity.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, Marley and Jess.

Donna smith
Administrative officer

Donna joined in 2019. Having previously spent 13 years in the health food and natural products industry. She carries out in-depth research for the Compassionate Shopping Guide.

Donna handles administration at Naturewatch Foundation and is a welcome and friendly voice at the end of the phone. In her free time she enjoys music, getting outdoors and spending time with her rescue cat.

Natalie Sorokopud
Campaigns Coordinator, Kharkiv, Ukraine
Natalie has been actively volunteering in animal welfare for over 15 years. This includes arranging charity events and campaigns, creating and conducting lessons for children, rescuing and rehoming cats and dogs. Her main aim is not only to help animals, but change the system so that all animals would benefit from it.
 
Since 2013 Natalie has supported the Ukraine campaign helping us with seminars for police, humane education and the spay and neuter project.
KATIE SALES
MARKETING AND WEBSITE MANAGER

Katie joined us in April 2022, having come from the education and local government sector. She is an experienced marketer and manages all aspects of our marketing and the ongoing development of our website.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and her faithful but somewhat lazy rescue greyhound, Sandy.

Jim clark
CAMPAIGN manager

Jim retired from the police in August and joined the team in September 2024. During his service, he was a part of an award-winning rural and wildlife crime team and achieved several successful prosecutions for wildlife crimes. He played a key role in implementing Operation Recall, which is now the UK Police Forces’ livestock worrying campaign. The campaign is aimed at significantly reducing the number of incidents in which animals suffer, including cases of injured livestock or dogs killed due to attacks.

With his border terrier “Ozric”, Jim enjoys walking in the countryside with his “dog under control.”

NANCY CHADWICK
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Nancy joined the administrative staff team at Naturewatch Foundation in 2022, after having helped out as a volunteer in the office for many years.

Her previous work experience was as an administrator based in London.

She is a great lover of animals and nature and enjoys spending time outdoors in her garden or going for walks.

wenna makin
CAMPAIGNS AND MARKETING OFFICER

Wenna joined us in May 2023 as our campaigns and marketing assistant. She previously worked as a Photographer and Camera operator.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, open water swimming, reading and baking.

Eve Bourke
CAMPAIGNS ASSISTANT
Eve joined Naturewatch Foundation in January 2026 as a Campaigns Assistant after completing her Master’s degree in Politics. She supports the Campaign Managers across a range of tasks, using her knowledge of current affairs, politics, and communications to help develop effective campaigns. 
 

Growing up with a rescue cat, Stanley, sparked Eve’s lifelong love of animals and her interest in animal welfare. She enjoys combining her interest in current affairs with making a positive difference for animals through advocacy.

In her spare time, Eve enjoys playing tennis, exploring beaches around South Wales, and yoga in the garden.

ALICE WILLIAMSON
CAMPAIGNS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT

Alice joined Naturewatch Foundation in January 2025, with a background in journalism and a degree in International Development. She has a love for print media, and is passionate about using storytelling to share the amazing work Naturewatch Foundation does!

Outside of work, Alice can mostly be found out in nature, whether volunteering at her local market garden or exploring the Gloucestershire hills. She also enjoys reading, yoga, playing the piano, and, of course cuddling up with her beloved rescue cat, Tigger!

Our trustees

Brian Gibb

Trustee

Chartered Accountant Brian advised Naturewatch Foundation for over 20 years before becoming a trustee. He’s a valuable sounding board for our CEO and oversees our overall policy and direction using his many years of experience working with business owners.

He spends much of his free time with his family and enjoys running, cycling and watching football.

Simon Davies

Trustee

Simon spent 25 years with NatWest, several as a manager advising small to medium-sized businesses, and he now brings that experience to Naturewatch Foundation as a trustee.

He spends much of his free time keeping himself fit, including running and kayaking (competing in world championships), but still finds time for the family.

Peter Mitchener

Trustee

Peter spent 33 years as a commercial Actuary in Life Insurance and now uses his time and skills to give back to local community groups and other causes where he is really passionate about making a real difference.

He enjoys running at parkrun and competing in local races, regularly plays tennis and is a keen swimmer at the local Lido. He has a cat called Archimedes (Archie for short).
