Report animal abuse

We need your help, we need you to report animal abuse. We work hard to keep track of new and existing threats to wildlife and companion animals, but we can’t do it alone.

Reporting illegal pet breeding or selling

Have you been the victim of a puppy farmer, backyard breeder, or dodgy pet seller? Or perhaps suspect illegal pet breeding or selling is taking place near you? Tell us what you know.

We’ll look into your information with the aim of uncovering any additional evidence. Wherever possible, we’ll present our findings to the authorities to help them start further investigations.

Even if it’s not possible for us to investigate, your information will help further our campaigning to end illegal pet breeding and selling in the UK.

Reporting wildlife crime

If you suspect individuals or groups are involved in the hunting of wildlife using dogs, such as badger baiting, hare coursing, deer hunting etc. Please fill in the ‘report wildlife crime’ form below.

We kindly ask that you complete the forms with as much detail as possible. You can rest assured knowing that all information you submit will be anonymous and stored safely.

It’s a legal requirement that we handle your data securely and responsibly, in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Sometimes we need to collaborate with enforcement agencies such as the police, HMRC and local authority departments like Trading Standards or Environmental Health. But we’ll always make sure we keep you and your identity safe.

Unfortunately, we can only accept reports about suspected animal abuse in the UK.

Ways to report animal abuse

Report illegal pet breeding or selling

Concerned about a puppy farm, kitten peddler, backyard breeder, or dodgy pet seller? Tell us what you know. Our covert investigation officers, whose identities are confidential for security reasons, will investigate your information to uncover any additional evidence. They’ll present their findings to the authorities to start further investigations, gather intelligence, or take enforcement action, which is the outcome we’re aiming for.

If it’s not viable to investigate, we may use the information you provided as part of our generic companion animal breeding campaign. If you know anything at all, however small, please contact our investigations team.

Report wildlife crime

If you actually see a wildlife crime taking place, report it to the police on 999 or, if you’re reporting after the event, dial 101. In each case, make sure you get a police incident number.

If you suspect that wildlife crime is happening, our covert investigations team can help. They focus on illegal persecution of wildlife using dogs where wild mammals suffer unimaginable pain and terror. We’re equally concerned for the dogs, which suffer horrific injuries because their owners take pleasure in watching animals fight for their lives.

Report dogs used in wildlife crime

Concerned about a dog being hurt during wildlife crime or illegal hunting?

If you actually see a wildlife crime taking place, report it to the police on 999 or, if you’re reporting after the event, dial 101. In each case, make sure you get a police incident number.

Sadly, dogs used in these activities are often injured and left to suffer in silence. Many of these injuries are never treated or even seen by a vet.

If you’ve seen something that concerns you, please fill out our simple report form. We work with trusted partners to make sure the right organisations are informed and can step in to help.

Your report could be the first step toward getting these dogs the care and safety they deserve.
