With World Animal Day just around the corner on October 4, there’s still time to get involved and make a difference for animals around the world.

This year’s theme, ‘See the World Through Their Eyes’, encourages us to look at the world from an animal’s perspective and consider how we can make it a better place for them.

Whether you have five minutes to spare or want to organise something bigger, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

1. Donate a Dinner to an animal in need

Not everyone has time to organise an event, but you can still make a difference.

Our Donate a Dinner initiative is a simple way to support your local animal rescue centre this World Animal Day. With rescue centres continuing to care for animals in need, even a small donation can help make a difference. You could donate a tin or packet of food, buy an item from a rescue centre’s wish-list, donate the cost of a meal or organise a collection at work, school or in your community.

Rescue centres across the UK are taking part this year. Find a participating rescue centre near you and fill a bowl this World Animal Day!

2. Spread the word

You don’t need to leave the house to get involved in World Animal Day. Simply sharing the message with friends, family and followers can help raise awareness and encourage others to take action.

Our World Animal Day social media toolkit is packed with ready-to-use graphics, posts and ideas to help you spread the word. Share our theme, tell people what World Animal Day means to you or encourage others to get involved.

Every share helps us reach more people and bring more voices together for animals.

3. Organise a World Animal Day event

You don’t need to organise a huge event to make an impact. Why not host a coffee morning, arrange an animal-themed walk, or organise a small celebration with friends and family?

Our event planning toolkit is full of ideas to help you get started, whatever your plans or budget. And don’t forget to add your event to the World Animal Day website to help others find out what’s happening near them.

4. Celebrate with a World Animal Day mug
