A Tail of Two Dogs is our emotive animation that explores the heartbreaking divide between a treasured family beagle, Toby, and another, ‘43’, bred for use in a UK laboratory. The simple truth is, the only difference is circumstance.

Toby was born to be loved.

‘43’ was born just to die.

Our film went viral and has now been viewed over 15 million times worldwide, and we’re so excited to share that it has been named as a finalist in this year’s Smiley Charity Film Awards.

This is a huge achievement. The Smiley Charity Film Awards celebrate powerful storytelling in the charity sector, shining a spotlight on films that inspire change, spark conversation, and lead to action. To be recognised alongside so many impactful organisations is something we are incredibly proud of. Thank you to everyone who voted for us in round one.

But we’re not at the finish line just yet.

The Voting Process Has Changed

This year, the awards have introduced an additional round of public voting. That means even if you’ve already voted to help us reach the shortlist, we need you to vote again.

Public support now plays a crucial role in deciding the winners.

If we are to take this important message about animal testing even further, we need our community to rally around the animation once more. We want to do this for the beagles bred and used in animal testing in the UK. We’re all their voice, and they need us now more than ever.

Why This Matters

A Tail of Two Dogs tells a simple but powerful story. Through animation, it invites viewers to see the world through the eyes of two dogs living very different lives – one cherished as a companion, the other subjected to laboratory testing.

Having a ‘Win’ for all the ‘43’s out there could achieve so much. We want A Tail of Two Dogs to be amplified even further, raise more awareness about the plight of animals used in animal testing in the UK, and show that compassion and kindness will always win.

It would help more people question why animals are still suffering in laboratories today. Animals deserve love, not laboratories.

Together, we can turn a shortlist into a win.

If A Tail of Two Dogs moved you, made you think, or strengthened your passion to end animal testing, please take a moment to vote again.

Vote today and help us make it an award winner.
