The London rally to end trail hunting took place on Saturday 9th May on a gloriously sunny day in Westminster.
The backdrop of the Houses of Parliament provided the setting bringing together passionate campaigners, wildlife champions and committed hunt saboteurs, flags waving and sharing their experiences of saving British wildlife from savagery. The rally was organised by our friends at the League Against Cruel Sports, with wonderful speeches from Chris Packham, Megan McCubbin and Peter Egan, who all spoke with our CEO Sarah. In representing our charity, it was inspiring to meet and talk to so many campaigners, and the atmosphere was full of hope, following the publication of the government’s consultation to end trail hunting. There was also frustration as with 80% of the UK population cited to be against fox hunting, it’s time that this cruel ‘hobby’ is finally relegated to the history books without further delay!
