Whilst supporting a colleague with our extremely important animal experiments campaign, I took the opportunity to hand-deliver a box of letters from our dedicated supporters to Policing Minister Sarah Jones MP, highlighting growing concerns about the misuse of catapults across the United Kingdom.
Being in London, was a powerful reminder of how our collective voices can reach the highest levels of government. The letters carried deeply felt stories, observations, and appeals from people who care passionately about wildlife welfare and community safety.
I met with one of the ministers’ representatives who reassured me that they would be placed directly before Sarah Jones, the policing minister, where real policy change can be influenced. The message was clear: catapults are being misused in ways that cause unnecessary harm to wildlife, and stronger measures are needed to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
Your support made this possible. Every letter, every message, and every shared concern helped build a compelling case that could not be ignored.
We are incredibly grateful for your passion and commitment. Please know that we will continue to stand up for you, our supporters, and for the wildlife we are all working so hard to protect. We asked for your support, and you responded in the most incredible way. Thank you.
We will continue engaging with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure effective safeguards are introduced and enforced across the country.
Together, we can help protect wildlife and promote responsible, lawful use of equipment in our communities.
