Welcome to the third edition of our mid-year magazine, where you’ll discover uplifting stories, positive updates and the latest news from Naturewatch Foundation’s campaigns and projects.
Our ‘Purple Paw’ campaign invites animal lovers to share the special bond they have with their pets – from dogs to cats to horses. We asked actor and animal welfare advocate Peter Egan to share his ‘Purple Paw’ story with us – go to page 3 to read about the important role that two dogs have played in his life. We also spoke to Cat Eccles MP and campaigner Sam Billingham, who reflect on the treasured relationships they’ve had with their four-legged friends. It isn’t too late to send us your own ‘Purple Paw’ experiences – just email hope@naturewatch.org.
We’ve been really busy since last summer, and we’ve crammed eight pages with:
- How our supporters have been helping us speak out against catapult cruelty – including naturalist David Lindo, also known as ‘The Urban Birder’, who features on our cover
- Progress on our work to end animal testing, and an exciting new partnership!
- An interview with one of our amazing 2026 Pet Rescue Grant winners
- Natalie S’s visit to a wonderful bear and wolf sanctuary we’ve supported in Ukraine
- This year’s World Animal Day theme – and how you can help feed animals in need
- Easy ways to get involved and be part of our team!
- A fantastic crossword puzzle put together by one of our talented volunteers
- …and more!
